The IF4030 series comprises high-performance Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) based on fiber-optic gyroscopes (FOG) and quartz flexure accelerometers. Designed to balance miniaturization (80mm × 80mm × 84mm, 0.9kg) with high precision, the series targets platforms such as medium-sized UAVs, optoelectronic pods, and underwater robots—applications that are sensitive to SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) constraints yet require moderate-to-high navigation accuracy.
The series is categorized into three models based on north-finding accuracy:
Here, φ represents the local latitude; the fact that the north-finding error increases with latitude is determined by the attenuation of the horizontal component of the Earth's angular velocity (Ω·cosφ) as latitude rises. Since north-finding accuracy is inversely proportional to cosφ, longer integration times or higher-precision gyroscopes are required to compensate in high-latitude regions.
