FAQ

1. What are the primary application scenarios for the NF4030 North-Finder?
The NF4030 is a high-precision North-Finder based on fiber-optic gyroscope technology, which also features full inertial navigation capabilities. It is suitable for applications requiring a high-precision north reference and attitude measurement—such as medium-to-small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), electro-optical pods, underwater robots, vehicle navigation, artillery orientation, tunnel alignment, and mine surveying.

2. What accuracy grades does the NF4030 offer?
The NF4030 is available in three accuracy grades: A, B, and C. All grades share identical physical dimensions and interfaces, with the self-north-finding accuracy defined as follows:
Grade A: 0.2° × secφ
Grade B: 0.1° × secφ
Grade C: 0.06° × secφ

3. How should the North-finding accuracy be interpreted?
The North-finding accuracy is expressed in the form of 0.06° × secφ (using Grade C as an example), where φ represents the local latitude. For instance, at a latitude of 45°, the actual accuracy is 0.06° × 1.414 = 0.085°. As the latitude increases, the accuracy decreases correspondingly in accordance with the secant function.

NF7000A

NF7000-A series is the north finder which is used for ship borne orientation and there is no external reference input, making the environment very complex. The satellite (GPS or Beidou) north finder is not suitable for this situation. And shipborne navigation requires precise navigation in three-dimensional space. When sailing at sea, the ship is affected by various factors such as wind, waves, and ocean currents, and faces multidimensional movements including roll, pitch, and yaw, resulting in significant sway and angular motion of the hull.
